Guest sov_seeker Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Hello everybody! In the COLLECTOR'S COINS GB 2008, a 1853 farthing with inverted Vs in VF condition is priced at £110. This coin is also a WW incuse. Does this make it rarer? The coin was sent to CGS UK for encapsulation and had the variety attributed (therefore it is original). It did not make it into a holder due to some verdigris in the legends.Thank you for your time. Quote
Guest sov_seeker Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Here is a picture of the CGS UK flip. Does anybody know if this variety is listed in any book? Quote
Chris Perkins Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 It's listed in my book. I am always suspicious with inverted V's that they are simply A's with blocked crossbars. Especially Vic farthing obverses, the dies having already been half worn out by striking sovereigns. Quote
