Guest ownjoo Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Hi all,I spotted this website while looking for info on the web, and from what I read you all seem very helpful. Now I did do a quick search on the Edward VIII coins on here, and noticed there was never really an "official" commemorative coin. However, while I was tidying my new house I stumbled across this and wondered if anybody knew if it was worth anything, or if it's a good looking piece of junk. Here are 2 pictures:It appears to be a fairly old coin, so I don't think it's a reproduction (or maybe it is, I have no idea). It's one to add to my very small collection of old coins that's for sure, but if anyone can give me any information on this it would be much appreciated. Thanks in avance guys. Chris Perkins Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Privately produced coronation medals of Edward VIII like that brass one are pretty common I'm afraid! Quote
Guest stratton Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 I have the exact same coin, but it is not brass. Its a silver colour. Does this make any difference? Quote
Chris Perkins Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Probably not as I don't think they are real silver. Could be wrong. Obviously if it contains some silver it'll be worth a little more than the brass one. Quote
