Guest terry306uk Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Can somebody please help me identify this coin I have acquired, I can`t seem to find it in any search engines.It is 38mm in diameter.The Obverse says:- Edward VII, King & Emporer, ER 1901, God Save The King.The Reverse says:- Born 9th Nov 1841, Married 10th March 1863, Ascended Throne 1901, Crowned 1902.And around the rim it says:- To Commemorate the Coronation of H.G.M. It was fixed for 29 June but had to be postponed until 9 August as the king had appendicitis.Edward VII coronation medals are extremely common - and very diverse as each local authority produced their own. Several of them, though, have shared designs, some with obverses by leading medallists. Yours doesn't appear to be place-specific, but clearly struck by some opportunist.Geoff Quote
