Fenman Posted February 3, 2004 Posted February 3, 2004 Not the international market but Huddersfield secondhand market (same thing )The coin dealer was away buying lunch and had left his wife in charge of the stall so it was difficult to get much info from her and the glass case was locked. It looked like a Crown; Australian and possibly copper. Very near mint condition as far as I could tell. Any idea of the value of such a coin? Were the Australian Edward VIII coins very common? Quote
Geoff T Posted February 3, 2004 Posted February 3, 2004 If it was crown size and copper it may well be a modern pattern, the so-called "fantasy crowns" which are fairly common. The only genuine colonial Edward VIII coins which you tend to see are from East and West Africa, and they don't have an image of the King on.Geoff Quote

Guest guestDan Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 Mark Rasmussen has a 1937 Ed VIII penny. He uses it as his logo as (presumably) he must have sold the 1952 penny Quote
