Drawing from the prestigious Richmond upon ThamesBorough Art Collection and a range of private loans - many never shown tothe public before - the exhibition will run from 14th January until 12thMarch.Mark De Novellis, Curator of Exhibitions and collections is requestingindividuals to come forward with their collections:"Over the last few years, I have been astonished by some of the items I haveviewed in local private collections and would like owners to contact me toexhibit their items to a wider public. The aim of the exhibition is toexplore collectors and the relationship they have with collecting. Whetheryou amass rare porcelain or collect tea cosies or Royal memorabilia, eachcollection is unique and a reflection of its owner..."Alongside sections on the Borough Art Collections- including founder NellieIonides - the exhibition will feature collections of postcards and evenbotanical samples."I aim to convey the breadth of objects collected - from the valuable toitems which - though loved by their owners - have sentimental or othervalue. The final display will feel a bit like entering a vast Cabinet ofCuriosities or Aladdin's Cave of treasures..."To lend an item please contact Mark De Novellis on 020 8831 6000 or emailm.denovellis@richmond.gov.uk(Message posted on behalf of Mark De Novellis, Curator) Quote
