I know, I've posted on the British coin forum by mistake!!!

My husband has a Tornesi Deici coin (not sure of the date) and we were wondering if they are worth anything?????

That sounds like a 10 Dieci coin from Naples and Sicily. They had their own coins up to about 1860 when Italy was formed.

It's a big old copper coin and I imagine they often have digs and bumps on the edge (mine has!). A well used one would be worth a pound or two and if it's in really good condition then up to 40ish pounds. Some dates are worth more than others... (and my book is a few years old)

Hi,

you have a 10 Tornesi, a copper coin of the former Kingdom of the Two Sicilies (south of Italy). This Kingdom was established after the Wien congress in 1815, unifing the two old kingdoms of Naples and Sicily, that until 1815 were separeted kingdoms but with the same king (from the family of Burbon). The kingdom was conquisted by the Piedmont army and united to the Kingdom of Sardinia (Savoy family) in 1860, that in 1861 changed name in Kingdom of Italy.

I can tell you an indicative value, but could you please tell me the year and the condition (conservation) of the coin?

regards
