Hi all, i was wondering if any1 can give me some info on a coin ring please....iv tried adding some pics but it wont allow this type apparantly (jpeg)...a detecting find found 11" down, came up all gold & gleaming, iv found enough of these to fill a bucket but never 1 as Gold coloured as this & in ring form. A local jeweller told us it might have been made to commemorate her 1897 Diamond jubilee (60 years on the thrown) but wasnt 100% sure also thought it was Gold. If any1 can help please email me stevehartly@aol.com to view the pics because it will take me ages to re-scan them & resize/different file type etc etc. Appreciated any help.

What does it say on the coin, and how big is it?

If the jpg is not too big it should be ok to attach to a post. Try renaming it to filename/jpg, instead of filename.jpeg. Perhaps the forum just likes 'jpg's.

Hi Chris... the ring has the name A.JACKSON engraved around the outside along with a design consisting of dots fancy swirls etc, inside the ring has the denomination of the penny "ONE" & "PENNY" with the date also "1897"...its covered in beautiful Green enamel around the outside & slightly remaining on the inside. It would be much easier Chris if you would allow me to send you 5 pics of it via normal email & see what you can make from it.

Yes, please do send pictures to cp@predecimal.com

Sounds like a gold plated and enamelled penny, which will be more old jewellery that coin.
