Guest Terry Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 I have come across a 1969 50 New pence piece. I understand that these were introduced in October 1969 so it must be one of the first ever minted. Anybody got any idea on it's value?Any info appreciated. Quote
Chris Perkins Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 Yes, one of the first 188,400,000 50 pence pieces!Usually when a new coinage is initiated there is a need to strike massive numbers of them to replace all of the older version in circulation. It was the same with the Euro in Europe a couple of years ago. It's worth a couple of quid in mint condition, but if it's less than perfect, take it to a bank and get a new 50p for it. Quote
