When Aethelstan and Aethelred II Became One

Was immediately drawn to the image in a museum recently and noted the mismatch with the text 😄

 

 

Mind you, they had a few coin hoards on display though! Lewes Castle, for anyone interested.

now these are going to be rarities.........  

I think the earliest Hammered Penny I have is a John 1204 ish
