Guest Aquajim_I'm_a_Guest Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 I have been searching the net and books trying to identify these two coins. They are brass and measure 1" & 1/2". They are from a small collection of miscellaneous world coins I am trying to dispose of. If anyone can identify what they are I thank you. Value would be nice but the identification is what I am searching for. The photos are sharp so you can see the condition and printing on the coins. Thank you all for your help.Jim Quote
Geoff T Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Neither of these are real coins. The smaller one is either from a toy set or is some kind of gaming token - it has the word "counter" written on it. It's made to look like a half sovereign. The larger coin is a medal, probably commemorating either the queen's golden jubilee in 1887 or the diamond jubilee in 1897. It would be one of the many non-official ones which were produced for these events.Geoff Quote
