I have dug up a coin in my garden (Nottingham) it is made of copper, and has these words.HADRIANVS AVG COS IIIPP ON THE FRONT and on the back is BRITTANIA SC. does anyone know the value I have looked for it on the net and it says the year AD122?

Normally Hadrian coins with Britannia on the back are quite sought after. Can you give size details ans provide a picture?

Sounds like an bronze As, probably RIC 0577 or RIC 0577b

On the reverse, can you see Britannia seated, holding a long transverse scepter or a scepter & a large shield to right?

As Chris says, the Britannia coins are usually valued by UK collectors, but it depends on condition.

Sounds like RIC 0577b

"136 AD. IMP CAESAR TRAIANVS HADRIANVS AVG, laureate bust right, slight drapery on far shoulder / PONT MAX TR POT COS III S-C, BRITANNIA below, Britannia seated facing, holding long scepter, large shield to right."

Does it look like this?

I hope it's a real one and doesn't have WRL printed on it!
