Guest cazchic Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 I have dug up a coin in my garden (Nottingham) it is made of copper,and has these words.HADRIANVS AVG COS IIIPP ON THE FRONT and on the back is BRITTANIA SC. does anyone know the value I have looked for it on the net and it says the year AD122? Millimoo Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Sounds like an bronze As, probably RIC 0577 or RIC 0577bOn the reverse, can you see Britannia seated, holding a long transverse scepter or a scepter & a large shield to right?As Chris says, the Britannia coins are usually valued by UK collectors, but it depends on condition.Dave Quote
