Guest canadian_firechick Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 I found a coin and not sure if it's real? The coin is about the size of a canadian dollar, has a pic of george VI & queen elizabeth on one side ( crowned 1937 on the bottom) The other side is a pic of a city w person & sheild holding a plant of some sort. It says long may the reign. The coin is very light and does'nt feel real, makes me think it was designed to celebrate a wedding or something. Thanks for your help. Quote

What i think you've got there is a coronation commemorative piece. George VI succeeded to the throne in December 1936 and was crowned the following year.I can't tell you more than that i'm afriad. Although someone else may know more. Quote
