Hi,

Picked this 1902 up today with an unusual (angular) 9, I've been looking through the posts and other sources for similar examples and can't find any, guessing it might be a common occurrence, can anyone advise?

Thanks again

hello, I'm not qualified however I did read recently about grease being in the die forcing metal out, ..... in your picture, along side the deformed 9 there looks like a residue of metal.... worth a thought...🤔
