Guest opt$ant Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 i would be grateful if anyone could tell what this coin is, it seems to be made of bronze and copperhas a picture of pegasus with what looks like the number 9 underneath, the picture is quite raised,on the on the other side is the picture of a mans head facing to the right, with letters around itEYIIATPOM. THESE ARE JUST SOME OF THE SYMBOLS ON THE COIN, THEY ARE NOT ALL ENGLISH LETTERS,HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP, LOOKS ROMAN OR GREEK.THANK YOUVERY NOVICE COLLECTOR Quote
Chris Perkins Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 Certainly sounds Greek, or probably more likely Roman-Greek, i.e. when the Romans had control of Greece. I have a couple of copper coins with Roman emperors on one side and a phoenix on the other. Millimoo (a member here) has a few too, but I think we'd need a picture to check. Quote
