Question about Swedish 1 öre coin

OK, here is a question for experts on Swedish coins... I have a few 1 öre coins from Oscar II and they all have plain edges. Just before he died they changed the wording in the legend, giving rise to a two year type.

My example is 1907 and it has a reeded (grained or milled) edge... is this normal for the type? Does anyone else have another 1907 or a 1906 to look at, or a more detailed catalogue?

The reason I think it may be unusual is that my corresponding 2 öre coin from the same issue (also 1907) has a plain edge, like all the preceeding 2 öre coins.

My 1907 is plain edge. Neither Krause nor Yeoman mention a reeded edge variety.

Im no real expert on such early öres coins from Sweden, neither can I find any references to such variants in swedish coin litterature. I include some scanned pics form one of my books, showing they do note any variants. That of course doenst mean there doesnt exist as I know errors and flaws always sneaks in, into books and reference litterature.

I have thus asked the question in a swedish coin and stamp forum. Hopefully there is someone there who can come with an answer.

I think many books do not have details about the edges of coins... last week we were talking about edge varieties of a British 1951 crown and a few months ago I found a 1935 shilling with finer edge reeding than usual... but no mention in any book so far.

Both the 1 öre and the 2 öre from all dates

have

plain edges.

The 1907 coin is one of the commonest, due

to the

fact that all coins from 1907 and 1908 were

dated

1907. (The king died in -07 and the new coins

weren´t set to be produced until in 1909.)

If your 1 öre coin of 1907 isn´t a counterfeit,

or if you haven´t been somehow mistaken, you

are

to be congratulated. But I have no idea how

much

you can charge for the coin."
