Hello,

I was wondering if someone can help me.

A few weeks ago, I bought part of the coin collection of a family that were getting rid of a huge amount of coins; Gold, Silver, Decimal coins, etc.

As I couldn’t afford the gold, or the silver coins that they were selling I purchased a large collection of decimal coins. (Among them proofs and uncirculated coins).

To my surprise, among the 50p coins I found two that to my little expertise look like genuine 2011 aquatic with lines alone the face.

I have compared them with a fake one that I bought a while back on eBay and the eyes and the mouth are different. As I never seen an original before I am not sure 100%, so I need help.

What do you make of the photos? (the fake one is the one in the middle)

Both the possible genuine one’s weight 8.0 grams.

Any help would be great appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the forum

I would say them lines have been added after, the 2 coins look genuine but something looks wrong with the lines, I might be wrong,   see the thread here  from the forum

Neither is a genuine first issue. Fewer lines across the body is a giveaway.
