I have inheited a jumble of about 500 predecimal British Coins and 100 foreign coins. I have managed to sort and identify most, with great help off the Internet. However I've been stumped at two foreign coins, <_< both as follows:-

The Obverse has a portrait of a seated woman, possibly on a rock, with her left arm stretched out and pointing between 3 and 4 o'clock. She seem to be holding a reversed leafed branch in her right hand at her side, such that the leaves are behind her. Over the top of the portrat is "DIEZ GRAMOS". The date under the portrat is "1870".

The Reverse has a portrait of a Lion en rampant and leaning on a shield. The text around the top of the portrait reads CIEN PIEZAS EN KILOG. Under the portrait is DIEZ CENTIMOS.

I have uploaded an image, of the better of the two coins to my web-site which I assume will appear below when the script runs. Thus you will be able to download it and enlarge it in your graphis editor. B)

I know nothing about coins and guess I have a couple of kilos of scrap...but there may be one or two interesting ones :D for somebody amongst them.

You have a coin from Spain, 1870, 10 centimos. There were 170 million of them made, making them fairly common even now. In the condition yours is in, I would say it would be worth about £1 or so.
