kuhli Posted December 4, 2004 Posted December 4, 2004 Are there any web-sites that you can direct me to for more information on decimal coinage?? I already have Tony Clayton's site bookmarked, so I know about that one. I would love to find a discussion area for the decimal coins, although I doubt one exists. But, no harm in asking, is there? aleroit2000 Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 In theese months, I've seen that in general, decimal coinage is not "considered" by the mayority of british collectors... Well... It's normal... Also here in Italy the republican coinage wasn't considered so much... (now with the euro is changed...), but there were a lot of people interessed in.Why decimal coinage isnt'so "loved"? Well, I know that the predecima one is more fascinating but also the actual is.... And I can say that, if in the future the pound will go to the euro, the prices of every single common coin will rise.... and rise....... Here now is quite impossible to find a common 500liras coin at 25cent (the "face value"). All are at 0.50 - 1.00 euros, and if UNC, more.... A question:Someone knows where I can find and buy some crown sized coins? I don't have some of the 90's and the 2000 and 2001 ones....Many thanks Alex Quote
