No. The coin with the blank side is slightly thicker I think. Access to scales is difficult as I'm on holiday and the lab is shut down for new conduit fitting ( old gas pipes look great but h'n's had kittens!). I can add more photos if that helps?
I'm a chemist so thought about the corrosive surface but the coin is actually a little thicker than its standard cousin, not thinner. Also the edge is not rounded. Its quite distinct. The image, I think, is facing right.

Hi folks. I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out the one sided fifty pence coin I have. The queens head is missing but there is a very faint impression of it that if you tilt it to the light. Does anyone have any information? I'm not a numismatist so apologies in advance for my ignorance!
