  1. Hi Peter, Thanks for your response your picture is in great detail. My coin is Black (with age) and very dificult to make out what is on it maybe older than that one in the picture but it must have spent about 150 years (at least) hidden away behind some panneling. Thanks for your help as the image looks similar. Regards Dave
  2. Hi Josie, Thanks for your response, metal appears to be copper or similar, I have been told it may be a token, but it is worn and probably worthless I have had it for many years as it belonged to my father who was a publican and when they updated his pub it was found behind the fixtures along with a few other coins. The building was/is a very old staging post called 'The Merie Harriers' for the horse drawn carriages from Cardiff to Barry in South Wales so I presumed it to have a little history. Regarding a photograph, I will try and post one today but don't hold your breath as I think it would be of no use due to the quality of the coin. Thanks once again Best Regards Dave PS. My wife thinks all this is a waste of time but I find history fascinating don't you?
  3. I am new to all this so bear with me for a while thanks. I have a coin which can only be described as 'rubbed' I don't know if it is of value but I can make out the design of a female sitting on a plinth with another design in the background. On the reverse side is a head of what looks like a king (but no crown) which I have been told is George 2nd and some lettering above his head and to the right I can make out the letters as follows:- S?YV??D Can anyone assist in its identity? I would be most grateful for your help. Best regards Dave38
