I have what I think is a commemorative coin/token depicting George VI wearing a crown. Reverse has a lion standing, in a conquering manner, on what looks like a griffon and the dates 1939 1945. Suggesting VE Day commerative ??! There is no denomination and the rim has all but disappeared. I'm not sure that it is a British coin as all my detective work so far has shown no British coins with George VI wearing a crown, (although a Fijian shilling does). If anyone can help I'd be grateful. As you can probably tell I'm not a collector, but I just want to know what this is!

Sounds like the standard WWII medal that all servicemen were presented with after the war.
