I have just been handling a selection of coins recovered from various 18th & 19th C shipwrecks !

I am in the exhibitions business & these were loaned to us as part of an exhibition on British trade with the east. There were some gold reis ( Joseph 1) from 1754 in EF, some gold mohas ( with 'English East India Co in the legend) again EF , some silver pillar dollars, 8 real cobs and a selection of copper cash.

It was quite a thrill to handle these coins - just a shame that they have to go back to the owner!
