  1. Balls of sterling, admirable one of the good traits of British fight against all odds.

    Wait and see.

There is still commonwealth countries and the pound was agreed or peg to dollar in decimalization.

Should the EU should talk also to USA if they will forced or convinced GB to join the euro.

Are they going to replace the queens head in commonwealth countries with what?

New agreement or pegging of GB Pound to USA Dollar to Euro?

No more like in 70s decimalization of 1 USA cent to 1 new pence or 1/2 penny to 0.62 USA cents.

Wait and see,how they will melt and cook this in the pot or pun to make a new penny.

    Just a comment.

  2. The problem is though, no one knows how much gold is in Fort Knox. It hasn't been audited for decades, for all we know there isn't much of it left. Since all calls for an audit of Fort Knox (along with the Federal Reserve) have been laughed at, it is quite possible that the US government secretly sold some of its gold.

    Yes.

Same as others whose currencies is one of the major world currency reserve,US dollar,UK pound etc.

Gold reserve by central banks of the world is not same when currencies is a world currency.

It is between gold reserve, central banks, mint, and financial institution and also government.

    Just a comment.

  3. In the past cash for gold.

Today I saw a jewelry shop cash for silver.

    Welcome to 1980...

    thanks for the info.

2 to 4 years ago I told my wife to buy silver jewelry in charity shop if she like that she can go to the pawnshop in the future in case things go bad another woman from our country of origin with someone else overheard it that if the pawnshop will accept it????in my mind it might on that time for its silver but never tried it before, but we did sold her gold jewelries several years ago I told her is one of the purpose of gold jewelries and she seen others doing the same the thing, others will not accept without a assay mark others will.

  4. In the past I did try to use a electrical tester, the results depends on how much pressure and distance to the circumference of the coin the results varies on how worn the coins, even search on the web on the conductibility but for the good results the conductor should be in rod or cylindrical in dimension same on wiring etc,in the past seen several movies using coins for conductibility and others uses of coins.

Most of the replies in testing silver is by sounds, others uses metal detector etc.

  5. MAUNDY MONEY

All coins after 1816 are legal tender at their shown number of decimal pence.

Text: Victorian threepences were produced both for maundy use and for normal circulation in all years between 1838 and 1901 except 1847, 1848, and 1852 (probably because of the possible advent of a decimal currency at the time (see florin), when the 3d at 1/80th of a pound would not have fitted within a decimal system. Currency silver threepences from 1838 to 1926 were of identical design and cannot usually be distinguished except in the best conditions when the higher striking standard of the maundy coins stand out; this resulted in the curious legal anomaly that when the currency was decimalised in 1971 all silver threepences from 1870 onwards were revalued at three new pence, not just the maundy coins. Threepences were produced with both the "young head" (18381887) and "Jubilee head" (18871893), inscribed VICTORIA D G BRITANNIAR REGINA F D, while those produced with the "old head" (18931901) are inscribed VICTORIA DEI GRA BRITT REGINA FID DEF IND IMP.

    BUT BEWARE

There are some so-called coins listed in some publications which do not conform to any specification given in a Royal Proclamation. Some of them might be referred to as plain edge proof or suchlike. If the Royal Proclamation stated that the edge shall be grained and made no mention of plain edges, they are not coins and have never had any monetary value.

    Sceat-Offapenny-Maundy-New Pence-Penny.

    0.5g 1 Maundy in 1 kg 2000pcs or more(1/2000+)by 2.4,4800,1/4800 metric troy pound????

  6. I will just keep in mind this thread.

In the past cutting of silver penny to make a farthing or half penny is punishable.

Cannot cut up new halfpence to make 2 old halpenny, same with newpence that is 2.4 or 2d for one pence, and payment of multiple of new halfpenny and pence but the old halfpenny and penny is in the new halfpence in unit or amount only but the old coin penny itself???? just posting, maybe it is still legal tender only inside the new halfpence or pence till now, just a comment.

  7. Penny farthing bike.

    Just posting.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legal_tender#Commemorative_issues

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-circulating_legal_tender

Penny silver, penny copper, depositor from the bank 1860 to 1971 interest of just one old penny per year it could reach 240 pence in gold currency coin legal tender????.

Even there is no more old penny copper there is still maundy 1 penny, pennyweight, carat, troy ounce, ger rid of the one penny maundy is just like getting rid of the grain use in measuring the weight of silver and gold bullion, just a comment.

It should be 1 Pound is to 2.4 USA dollars or 1 troy ounce of silver minimum wages per day 1.56grams-1 troy ounce as a barometer or scale for inflation to gauge the value of world currencies not only on the demand of its metal, that they use lowest metal is copper plated steel use in circulation, they are saying correction in precious metal to correct with copper plated steel to correct silver etc, sterling silver or use silver to correct other currencies product and commodities after all is up or inflated then precious metal goes lower,Is steel is up than silver and gold???wonder what is the scale they are using to wiegh minute or small products just a comment.
