    1802 coin

    Thanks to both argentumandcoins and azda. You have been very helpfull. The coin does weigh 4g and as for the die axis; well on spinning the coin as directed, the bottom (point) of the shield is aligned with the neck and the flat top aligns with the forehead. Once again,thanks to you both JohnMc

  4. I have a coin which I cant find in any of my books or online. It is a George III 1802 silver coin, 24mm diameter, quite thin. The monarchs head is George III and I can make out the name Georgius III The date is on the other side and is quite obvious to see 1802 This date is under a shield which is quartered ; 3 lions, welsh dragon, harp and I cant make out the forth The shield has a crown on top Around the edge of this side is MBF ET H REX FDB ET LDSRIATETE Any help please?
