    Sovereigns for sale

Hi, I have a small collection of sovereigns I need to sell (My need for spending money is now greater than my desire for collectable money) When is the best time to sell, do you think? Is it too near Christmas now to get a proper market price on ebay?
  2. This is related to a previous thread, but is a new question - I hope that follows this board's protocol correctly. How can you tell that a sovereign is from the canada mint? There is a big difference in scarcity between the Canadian and British sovereigns - what is the difference to look for?
  3. Thanks for that - what makes it scarcer? Were there less made? or have more been 'lost'? How much does it cost to get a coin 'graded' officially? and where would I go to do that? - is it worth doing?
  4. I have this George V 1911 Sovereign - apparently it is 'Canadian struck', it looks like it's in pretty good condition but I haven't had it graded (yet). Anyone have any idea what it should be worth? it's here: http://quornlondon.tripod.com/1911sovereign

How can I get a rough price idea for this set?

Yes, I do have an ebay account but, no, I am not a particularly experienced or regular ebayer. And well done, you've pre-empted what would have been a future question - whether ebay was the best place to be selling such a collection. From looking at some other postings here I realise that may be a contentious issue! But I have noticed that, so far as selling Krugerrands for their gold value are concerned, the ebay sell prices seem to be correct. Whether this set I have has a price very much above it's gold price is what is perhaps the issue to resolve. Thankyou, again, for your input on this - I look forward to further posts.

How can I get a rough price idea for this set?

Thankyou for your reply. The four coins are 1oz + 1/2oz + 1/4oz + 1/10oz so that is just under 1 and 3/4oz - which at today's rate would be about £375 ? How does that sound? How do I find out more about this Krugerrand set? I know this is a, primarily, British coin site but perhaps someone knows or can point me towards another site?
  7. I have a set of coins I want to know the price for - it is a proof set of Krugerrand gold coins, 4 of them, in a presentation case, all good condition, created for the 30th anniversary in 1997. Can anyone help me with the price, and how many were made - or point me to somewhere I could find out? Thanks all.
