  1. Thanks Rob for getting back to me. Yes your quite correct,  I can see now under a loupe that the edge has a faint diagonal milled edge all the way round and the filing down would be why it is a wee bit underweight. No sign of it being mounted on the edge although it could have been in one of them mounts that doesn't damage the coin, so as you mentioned filed down so it would fit and hence it having a shiny smooth looking appearance in hand.
