How a metal detector can help your hobby

G'day Samclab, i use the Whites MXT price on that in Aus dollars is $2,600.00 but if you look around for a second hand one it does not have to be the mxt, you can find a good one for around $700.00. Just stick to the well known makes such as Whites,Minelab,Garret and fisher you can't go wrong. You must have a detector dealer in your town or nearby, give him a call and explain it to him what you want and he will be able to put you on the right track. The secret to finding coins is to search out the places where people gather in numbers, then you will find coins easily. Raoul

    1926 florin

Went out with my mate this morning detected a few schools and ended up with $39 dollars and this 1926 florin, it was realy badly tarnished and black on one side,i know you are not supposed to clean coins but i couldn't stand to see it in this condition. First of soap and toothbrush that made no differance than i tried to soak it in silver cleaning soution, still the same, mum had some Jif cleaning solution which is used for cleaning bathrooms and showers so i tried that. wow it brought the coin up like new. Before you tell me that i shouldn't have done that i checked the value of the coin and it was worth $8 dollars in very good condition. Believe me if i find a coin of real value i will leave it as it is. But for coins of little value that stuff brings them to their glory.

Hi Chris, i have now had my Sony DSC-P8 Cyber- shot for 6 months and i find the best way way for Macro shots is to get plenty of light on the subject also i have found this gadget handy in two ways. 1 It holds the items steady 2 You can shoot through the magnifying glass, which brings it closer. Its dirt cheap to buy, and can by bought at any electronic shop.
