Paulus, lovely medal there. I like many that came from this exposition. I believe the designer is McMillan who was at the RM and did a series including the ""Peace" crown for the 1927 new coinage of silver...Yikes, it is late here so no doubt Rob can correct me.LOL

Seems to be the season for acquiring YH Half Crowns, I got my first decent one the other week, as did @Nonmortuus

Another upgrade to my brass threepences. Not an easy one to find in this condition. I would grade this as BU but with a slight flan flaw on the obv. what are your thoughts on this, please.

I'd rather defer to the experienced guys we have here who will give you an honest opinion bu it'snot BU and a few bag marks and edge knocks rather than flan flaws? - smidge of friction to ear maybe? That would knock it down from UNC by a grade. It's a good example though for the year as far as I can tell.

It seems to be Unc for sure. Whether BU or not depends on if your picture gives an accurate view of the lustre - it may not which is why some may rate it as not BU

Went to see Pete he's a decent bloke! and picked a few decent bits up off him. Don't know if I could really do better than the 1934 and for some sadistic reason I chose that as my wanted example for the 5th Freeman obverse, and the halfpenny is 'kin glowing with lustre and can't get a decent photo. A few more boxes ticked off. 

Sat here, melting, trying to understand the reference to lions and lambs 🙄 I'll assume that speaks to my naivety 😅

Not at all - you may not have encountered our friend who was here for a while, but developed what can only be described as an 'interesting' theory that the Mint somehow watermarked coins with effigies of lion heads and / or lambs, and that these can be detected using various detection methods and equipment. Or was it all a bizarre dream I had after consuming a too-strong curry one evening?

A part of me wanted to believe. 

Reminds me, whatever happened to the chap who was going to detect on an old property where a coin collection was reputedly buried?

Not sure how many boats this will float 😆 This is number 11 out of 40 wanted for the hammered copper farthings (covering types). Provenance always a win. But where are the remaining 29 coming from  😆

Nice 1883 scarce date farthing in a/unc condition good lustre

It has however a great big fingerprint on the reverse making a £80 coin into something worth around £30 or so , funny enough it does not show up very well on the scan but looks very out of place in my coin box , I will have to get an upgrade.At  least it should sell well on the bay
