My Alexander III arrival

Bit late on this thread but I really like this coin - nicely struck , great tone with a hint of patina/residual lustre. Nice hammered silver - nothing better!

I'd certainly be thrilled to pull a sixpence like that out of the ground.

Nice.

Worth it.

I bought this posvimvs groat last year. Same period but not as rare as your coin. I paid around £75.

I wanted to ask: The obverse legend reads 'regi'(or 'reci'?) rather than 'regina'. Do you know if this is unusual?

Looks like REGI to me too. Do you know if that is unusual for the groat? I can only find REGI listed for the half angel.

The 1860 does have the top of the serif missing and part of the zero as well.

Makes the coin extra special especially on a top quality piece like yours. Good for you Danz

Just arrived is my 1773 Farthing. It's not going to win any beauty contests due to wear and a couple of scrapes but apart from that isn't in too bad condition. It's the 'No stop after REX' variety, which according to the Colin Cooke collection is listed as very rare. Only cost me a bit of loose change aswell :)
