Tricky Quiz Question wot I thort up.

Recommended Posts

An Englishman, a Frenchman, and a German sit a test.

There is one question. Same question to each, in English, French, and German.

They answer it correctly.

The Englishman's answer is 8, and 202.

The Frenchman's answer is 100, and 23.

the German's answer is 8, and 12.

What was the question?

The prize is, hopefully, a huge pile of reaction points from fellow forum members, including me.

( I don't set easy questions as any fule kno.....)

How good does my knowledge of the German language need to be to get this? My French is okay but not my German.

Yes, you spotted the clue, but no, no big knowledge needed,

and the question can be gleaned from any of the three answers....

I'll go for 'tell me two random numbers'.

How about 'give me two random numbers, at least one of which must be less than 25'?

Number of lifetime sexual conquests, and partners satisfaction rating?

Or so I’m told, obviously!

Hm, I was thinking maybe the first was numbers with letters in alphabetical order - cent and acht do but eight doesn't fit. Conversely zwölf is in reverse alphabetical order. Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree.

which numbers are first and last on the list?"

That's a good one. It's counter intuitive that of 100 alphabetical English numbers, the first would begin as late in the alphabet as "e".

1 to 1000 would work too, as would 1 to 998, 997, 996, ..., 202 however.

Yes, it's not clear, but the German being A to Z would, I thought, have been the smoking gun for someone....

I'll think up another one.......

Let them cry!!!!!!

I'll save all my Earth-shattering insights and life-changing observations for this Forum.

( It will actually be a half-baked pile of badly thought through tosh masquerading as intellectual mumbo jumbo.    It's a new system. )

( Rather loosely based on the old system, if I'm perfectly honest)
