Hi all. I have a couple of pieces with an unusual look (and not in a good way) that I would like to share. I would love to have your opinion. First of all, this bun head penny that has a strange 'spotted' or marbled lustre. Is this normal? It appears to have a very weak strike too. Second, this halfpenny that has lustre covering one third (from 12 o'clock to 4:00) and the rest is dark. I was on the understanding that lustre fades out with wear, and logically this happens uniformly and first to the fields and exposed areas. However the pattern shown by this piece suggests some sort of partial dipping. Any ideas, apart from having been partially exposed to the elements?

Hi all, Purchased this coin a few months back and im just getting round to posting pics on here- its a beauty but it was sold to me as being in EF condition, and when i got it in the mail i immediately noticed a particular point of wear on the rim, also it is 0.20g underweight. What do you think- Yay or nay? Also there is this point on the coin that looks ,only in my view,as if it were silver plated and at this point the plate is damaged revealing the matrial underneath- I am 99% sure this is NOT the case, its just that that's the best way i can find to describe it. Here it is again: Heres the area of most wear on the rim:

Hi everyone, I have recently purchased this 1902 crown. I need help with the grade & value, because... The coin unfortunately features a few edge knocks, so my question is: does this affect the grade - because grading, I have always been made to believe, is based on detail; and more importantly, how much does this affect the value? Here is the front:

Hi, I have recently come across this piece, and have absolutely no idea what it is. I picked it up, because presumably - due to the age - it is silver, and so would be worth around £1 in scrap. I will keep it if it's worth a little more, though; I acknowledge that it has a hole in it, but am just curious of what it is. I can tell you that it is not in "collectors coins GB", or in any of my other books, but it has the Britannia on it so surely it is British? Please help!
