When you collect a set of coins , you want one of each , may have to have a gap in my set I'm not paying way over book price , lets see if one turns up at a coin auction
-
I'm looking at decimal 1983-2015 coins , which are more of a fixed value They put them up with a fixed "Buy It Now" price , way over the actual book value
-
The thing about this set is the crown , its a frosted version that only 593 were made and only put in this set I may have to skip this one
-
That sets got two Sov's in it , surely that counts as proper coins !
-
24Carat advertise one , but they do not have stock, like a lot of coins their web site says they have in stock !
-
I would worry more if it wasn't toned as normally 1911 proofs come toned due to the box they were stored in, normally with a blue interior. Yes I'd expect the 1911 to be more toned than that. As you all know , I now have a thing about toning

I have one here , just got to get a picture of it as I am no good at grading coins
-
Does this count for the Penny as well ?
-
I,m no expert , but I think cleaning ruins the surface of the coin , creating what looks like small scratch marks

That Gothic Crown looks very clean , shame there is not a higher detail picture (I have blown it up, but it loses detail) -
They are calling this a "Gaming Token" , is that right ?
-

What was the coin , that may help..... -
How about this one......
-
I would worry about the toning on that proof , I think its a lovely looking coin , but what will CGS think ?
-
Never a mistake, but a 'learning experience'. And you would always get most of the money back 'on the Bay', but anyway its a nice looking coin, why worry? It is so difficult to tell from photos, may look great in the hand. Like that lovely Gothic Crown of yours; there is clearly very little expert agreement on this forum with the thoughts of one individual at CGS. Don't be disheartened! Not like the two and a half grand I spent repairing the daughters car last summer, only for her to sell it for £600 two weeks later because she 'didn't trust it'! AARGH........ Still, at least I've married her off now! Jerry That made me laugh , thank god mine has left the nest....
