So I've done that and I can still see the image. Even more bizarrely I can see it on my phone whilst logged out of PD and there is no possible connection between me and imageshack on there as I use a different e mail address and rely on 4G, not a PC server. I just don't get it, although there has to be a logical explanation.

Of course that would happen, it would be too easy otherwise :D having a look around now.

    Will do, Matt. Thanks.

Just having a look and I get a 404, could it be that with this photo hosting site you need to be logged in to your account to view your images?

Can you do a test for me - log out of imageshack but stay logged into PD, then try to look at one of the pictures on here that you could see before that no-one else can. If it doesn't show up I reckon it's blocking people who aren't logged in as you from looking at the images.

It's only when I'm logged in - when I'm logged out, I'll see what you see, nothing.

What I don't get is that if I want to use a picture I've stored on image shack, and then use the "inset other media" option, I can then "insert image from a URL", which I'll try now using a random coin directly from my imageshack collection - URL]URL]The pic now appears in my post. But for some bizarre reason, it doesn't appear for anybody else. I seriously don't get what I'm doing wrong here.

If I try to import a picture directly from my own PC pictures, they're always way too big, and it's a hassle having to re-size to fit. Some advice would be welcome as seemingly nobody else has any problems posting pics, and it's really beginning to bug me as to why I should be encountering this weird obstacle.

For me, the first URL inserted image isn't showing, whereas the second one directly from your computer is. I can't see what the problem would be with the first type though.

The quickest way I find to re-size is to print screen, paste and crop in paint then save as a jpeg, usually gets anything under 500kb.

Can you PM me a link to a photo on your image shack and I'll try to replicate it?

I just acquired a quite reasonable F15 from flea bay. Would have ideally liked to have bought Steve's, but had other priorities from that collection, which didn't leave sufficient money. They're not especially scarce, but it's yet another of the 1860 series, I hadn't got. Got the coin today - my pics below. Unfortunately there is a tiny patch of verd just under the second N of PENNY, almost invisible to the naked eye, but doesn't majorly detract.

Edited to include the pictures while we sort whatever's going on out.

That's a decent, strong coin though, nice buy. Did you get it for a good price??

    Thanks for your help.

I find the whole London Coins business farcical and totally absurd.

I did my coin valuations today, and the upside is that Spink 2016 values my coins higher than CGS ever did.

Just got a work out a way to sell them now.

List them on here with the CGS grade , I'm sure they will sell

Because of your low post count supermack you won't be able to see the wanted/for sale section to list them, let me know if you do want to list them on the site I'll open the section for you, you've been a member for a few years and it's more to just stop people signing up to sell a coin.

Sorry, my fault. I looked at the wrong number. However, the my overall point stands, which is that you are shown as having posted 2264 times, and this number is shown against every one of your posts on this thread. Surely, the post after 2264 should then be 2265, or am I being too simplistic. Either way, I'm confused. Ditto, 1949threepence has the same number of posts despite there being 2 which are about 20 hours apart.

All posts show the same number and are all updated each time you make a post. The system isn't telling you what post that is in terms of "Post 100 out of 500" it's just telling you how many posts that user has made on the site, so it will always show the highest number on every post.

For me this is your post number 399. The one immediately following is also number 399. Yet refreshing the page doesn't seem to make any difference.

Every post in every thread will show the same post number - your current one. Everytime you post, your post count will increase everywhere, on your profile and in every previous post in every thread, so it will always show your highest post count.

Although I don't understand the 399 part, as my posts are 2000+, does it show as 399 on your screen or is that just an example?
