I have to disagree with this. It is possible to negotiate (sometimes to zero) the seller's premium with some auction houses, in which case the seller gets the hammer price and the auction house covers its costs through the buyer's premium (commission).

I got confused - I believe that he is Guy Fornquerne (or Guy Fie) from the Coinery Auction.
-
I don't think so.

Any garden pics this year?

I didn't realise that these animals live in Telford - that's gnus to me. -
Is this Penny F8B?

Because F763 is scarce rather than rare, I've just included one example of both A+b and A1+b rather than every example I've seen. -

Absolutely (I omitted the ** by mistake). Gouby A where R & E of REG touch at base. -

I think it's a F763 (1+B) but I've been staring at it for hours. -
That's the second time he's taken it down - probably hoping that no-one will notice.
-
I've just tried to report it to Ebay but got switched to a Police Action Fraud site - they're obviously not going to bother with something like this.
-
But, as Jerry says, it's back again.
-
Yes, I use Arcsoft which is very simple to use to reduce the "density" of the image from 1-100%.
-
I also messaged him yesterday saying that I was going to contact Ebay today. The combination seems to have worked.
-
Another Chinese fake. These are appearing much more frequently. I've emailed him but he's ignored me. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/394980540821?hash=item5bf6acc195:g:BG4AAOSwhUZlR9TA&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA0LToAQl%2Bv5lruS1VjgEBdalvLMF%2BqEkIIY7gbS7fpOGc9YC72%2BSTmpJlLO%2F0hmkF95zWFedv7giPVEq2I60cDDws6qptmTtUcJaSQ6dQ7G%2B5eG4N%2FoWHyQS8FjdTx70b34Cu638eituxW%2Fsp%2FMY0aXUxIEXcJ85YjWVGJvlbv75v4kYxrzJjx5qfFJC5tqKCuBwBjvDa0lPfulufuMiqy5Jqy%2BZabc22Icg8d4uA2ZG763NR7xohWZTb2fv1d4uKwwxofaEhY9qfczZ%2BXyvzpFc%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR67zs5r0Yg

Mine is very similar - very clever, although there seems to be signs of activity.
-
And he's taken it down again.
-
I looked at it closely in hand but could never be sure how they did it.
-
But he's now relisted it with no mention of an altered date. How does one contact Ebay to tell them it's a forgery ?
-
The waves are well above the double line variety.
-
He's now taken it down after I emailed him.
-
I sold this coin to John Spring a few years ago and, when it appeared on Ebay recently I emailed the seller to tell him it was a forgery, a doctored 1853 penny. I believe he must have sold it to Torcoins who are now trying to sell it as genuine. Ebay should be told.

Rob You were too quick off the mark - I amended it immediately to remove your name. -

More interestingly, the 1862 with A to left of lighthouse has no rocks. Not true. -
Stuff to Make Us Laugh
secret santa replied to Madness's topic in Nothing whatsoever to do with coins area!
I put this little cartoon up as I and my peer group found it amusing. Looks like it's time to leave this forum. -
