  1. Bought two 1902 Low Tide Pennies yesterday, at the Indiana State Coin Exposition. Both were in about the same condition (AU-UNC). They were not marked as LT's. Once in a while you get lucky!
  2. B&C, you forgot "at the end of the day" and "Amazing"
  3. The V nickle and Indian Head Penny from the USA are not rare at all.
  4. That coin might have been a early strike where they were setting the pressure on the press, preparing for a production run.....

  6. In conversations I have had with him he told me his name was John, but he goes by Stephen. Why I do not know, and never asked him.

That one is a wide date, 12.5 teeth. A small date is 9.5 teeth.

Britain did not "stand alone" prior to the USA entering WW2. We provided military hardware and supplies to Great Britain well over a year prior to the U.S. entering the war...just a FYI! During World War II, the United States began to provide significant military supplies and other assistance to the Allies in September 1940, even though the United States did not enter the war until December 1941. Much of this aid flowed to the United Kingdom and other nations already at war with Germany and Japan through an innovative program known as Lend-Lease. ☺️ btw....Great Britain was one of the few countries that paid us back for the aid. The lend-lease program ended up being a "gratis" program with most countries.

Greetings from a new member in the USA

Welcome to the Forum Villa, from a fellow Yankee.
  13. B&C Collector is Gary Schindler, from New York. He has about every variety of Victorian Copper/Bronze know to man! LOL.
  14. Mike, It is probably informational replies taken from a learning tree of other like questions. Certain key words in your dialogue will trigger "learned" responses from other similar questions.

    LCA September

Colin, it is odd that you mention Scotland...when I was offering my coin for sale, I was told by another Forum Member, that Laurie Bamford had found out about a 1877 ND that was supposed to be in VF condition in Edinburgh. He made a appointment to see the coin, but when he got there, the person "couldn't" find it. Makes a good story, but...? If there does happen to be a 1877 ND in VF, it probably is the best known example!

Santa, is the LCA coin (1877ND) one that you already have on your coin listing?

    LCA September

Jerry, I'd rather not say because I don't have his permission to do so. I only mentioned the Principality, so to draw attention to the fact what area he comes from. A couple of the Forum Members know who he is, but I don't think I should announce his name. Nothing personal, believe me....

Below is the 1877 ND that I sold a few years ago. The one in the LCA Auction was in better condition, in my opinion, though mine went for more than twice the LCA price!

I've seen about 6 of the different 1877 narrow dates, and the one at the LCA auction is by far the best one of all of them. I was going to bid on it, but felt it would get into 10k pounds, because of the condition, and that was more than I wanted to pay. I would bet money it went to Cardiff! He already has three of them! 😊

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

There are a lot of farthings that have been certified by PCGS and NGC, as mules, that are not really mules...in fact they look just like the example shown here, but are slabbed as mules. This type of a mistake does not happen with Half Pennies, and Pennies, but is seen, once in a while, in the farthings.
  21. Getting back to the blues.......
  22. My first PC was a Tandy TRS80. It had two flexible floppy drives. The top drive was for data, and the bottom drive had the system program. Later I added a acoustical modem that you manually call the phone number up, then placed the phone receiver in the modem and a connection was made for data transmission. The system was so slow, you could see each character slowly emerge, one character at a time on the screen. This was about 1981 or 82.
