I agree with Chris about postage and insurance from Germany, and the post is much more efficent, although i disagree about sourcing, i think Germany can be cheaper for Gold as the Germans pay by weight and not what type Sovereign it is. I recently seen a 5 pound 1887 go for 700 euros, which is around the 660 pound mark, for a coin that weighs over an ounce i think was a bargain, wish i had the cash for it :-(

The reply to my offer of 5 euros for the Farthing from the dealer. Thank you for your offer, but there will be no deal (for EUR 5,-). From our perspective it is a t/b coin. What you can tell from the picture is (at least) that there is a different "toothing" an both sides. But if you are not sure, maybe it is better that way. -

My email reply to the dealer Hello and thank you for your picture, i don't know why you think this is a tooth/beaded border as both sides judging from the pictures are toothed, in that respect i could offer 5€ for your coin. Please let me know what you think. -

Much space, for an asda? Or my flat? As for the farthing, i would'nt have spent €500 on it, i'm not much of a copper fan, but i don't know why he thinks it is what is, i wonder if he wears a mask as well :-) I think i'll email him back and tell him it's worth €5 lol -

Ok, this thread was started about a T/B border Farthing, i have a reply from the seller with a picture and i must say the picture is crap to say he wants someone to spend €500 on the coin, as other posters stated, i don't think it is what he says it is. Take a look -

Difference between a pissed German and a pissed Brit, a pissed German can get pissed and go home happy as Larry because he can take 3 or 4 litres of strong brew, a pissed Brit has 2 beers and thinks he's Rocky Balboa and will wanna abuse anyone in his path, including the local kebab shop owner and the taxi driver who's taxi he puked up in due to the fact he can't take his alcohol. Just a few observations since i've been here, oh and for the record, a drunk Scotsman here in Munich last year was drunk on the streets of Munich, the local police lifted his, let him sober up and gave him a 750€ fine for his trouble and his plane ticket home, this is why no one gives the police in Munich any grief, hence it is the 5th safest city in the world. Viva Bavaria -

Munich so far has been quite unaffected by the snow, just a sprinkling here and there which is really surprising considering we're sitting virtually on the Alps (90mins away) i can actually see them from the town i live in on a clear day. If you are ever needing some help of some sorts Chris let me know. -

I've been here since 2007, but the Frau speaks great English and we had sky tv just before we moved, so i was learning jack, but i decided last year that i must learn something apart from zwei maß bitte. I'd like to be a coin dealer, any jobs going in that direction? left the denim jacket and mullet back in the late 90s, so am good to go, although we did have a new arrival last year, picture attached -

Ah the old East, and we're paying to rebuild it, it'll be better than the old west shortly. Very cheap to live there, you'd get a culture shock if you came down here, costs a bloody fortune to live here, 2nd most expensive city in Germany. Any jobs going up that way lol? Wie ist dein Deutsch? Ich bin in Deutsche schule jetzt, aber es ist sehr schwerig sprache zu sprechen. If you ever venture this way, you're more than welcome to drop in, just don't forget to bring some marmalade :-)) I think we must start a new thread GERMANS ONLY or something, we're totally screwing up my starter thread here lol -

Sorry, am off my soapbox now :-) If you're ever in Munich, stop by for a beer and wurst ;-) Hofbrauhaus is always open and room for a 1000 leute -

Danke Ihnen fae a Scotsman ;-) (yes there is 2 of us on site now) Back to that farthing, i've emailed and asked for better quality pix, will wait and see if he replies, no doubt it will be at least tomorrow before he does. -
