Ordering

My whole philosophy for this venture was to keep it simple and functional, and hopefully the ordering options are just as clear as the rest of the site! There are a number of ordering options:

With your credit or debit card:

Every product on the site is priced and linked to my shopping cart software. All the items also have a weight associated with them and the postage formula contained within the shopping cart software should allow you to add products to your 'Cart' and use one of 5 options to pay for the products and the postage, easily and all in one go.

The items on the site are priced in British Pounds and if that is not your native currency, your credit card company will use their exchange rate and convert it to your native currency when it's debited. (The credit card company may also charge a fee for purchases not in your home currency, so please contact me via email and I'll try to work something out to allow a payment in your currency)

The payment process is encrypted and as secure as it can be. I also personally check every order and should the automated system charge too much postage I always refund the difference.

If you would like to use your credit card but don't want to transmit the details online, just make a note of what you want to order and call me on: 0049 3721 265947 (A German phone number) or email me to find out the postage costs first, then fill in the postal order form with your order details and credit card details and send it to:

Paying via PayPal or NOCHEX

PayPal and it's British/European competitor NOCHEX allow account holders to send money to other account holders either from a held balance or from a registered credit or debit card. If you use either PayPal or NOCHEX simply add products to your cart as normal and choose either to pay with PayPal or NOCHEX when you are given the option at the payment choice page.

Paying with a personal Cheque (check)

I welcome payments in GB cheques/PO's or US$ checks/Money orders.

To pay using a personal cheque/check or Postal/money order in either US$ or GB£ simply add products to your cart in the usual way. When you have finished go to the payment area and the system will work out your total and give you the option to choose 'Cheque' or 'Money Order' as your payment method. When you choose one of those methods all that happens is I get an email containing your order details and am basically told to expect payment from you in the post.

When the system has given you your cheque/money order total, make it out to C Perkins and send to:

Paying via a bank transfer

For British and Euro zone customers a bank transfer can easily be initiated into a British or German bank account. It will be free for British and German customers but your local Euro zone bank may charge a fee if you are not resident in the UK or Germany.

To order via this method just email me or call me on 0049 3721 265947 and I'll provide full bank account details.

Paying with cash

Obviously this is a slightly risky method but I welcome GBP, EUR and USD cash (no US coins), enclosed with the postal order form. You'll need to email me or call me on 0049 3721 265947 first so I can let you know the exact cost of posting. I would recommend at least sending cash via recorded post and cannot accept responsibility for lost payments. I will say however, that the German postal system has never let me down yet.

Information on customs and excise:

All the items are sent from Germany. If you live in the UK or anywhere else within the European Union you will not be charged any import taxes by your national customs and excise people. Orders that are sent outside the European union may be subject to import taxes on arrival, the responsibility to find out details from your local authorities lies with you, the purchaser.

Information about the way the shipping costs are calculated:

Each product in this catalogue has a shipping cost associated with it and the more items you add to your shopping cart the less the postage costs will proportionately be.

When you purchase an item separately you are told in the listing how much the postage will be for that item. For example, you purchase a stamp album that costs £4.00 to send, your order total is the album price plus £4.00.

When you purchase more than one item from this catalogue, for example you purchase 2 identical stamp albums each that would normally cost £4.00 to send separately, the system will not charge £8.00 (2x £4.00) it will actually charge £5.50. The postage formula is based on the actual cost of sending the items to you using the German postal system and is based on a single unit costing £4.00 to send, and subsequently added units adding incremental amounts to that base unit value. For smaller items where postage is less than £4.00 I have used a fraction of the base unit, for example if an item costs £1.00 to send, the unit value associated with that item will be 0.25.

The German post office charge the same amount for deliveries to all the European union countries. The calculating system is 90% accurate in relation to what it will actually cost me to send. In the event of the system charging too much I will always intervene and will only ever charge the actual cost of posting (or less).
