Got this In a collection I purchased recently. Any Idea whether this is damage or a error strike caused during

the minting process. Also, is this coin now only worth the silver value?

Be grateful for any views on this oddity.

It;s damage, so worth less than it would be without, but more than melt looking at the detail remaining.
