I have a weeks holiday in September and Neuschwanstein is definitely on the cards plus the possibility of Berchtesgaden (Hitlers lair) that's 180km away

I had actually tried to work out from the sun whether it was morning or evening, eventually deciding that only a madman would have got up voluntarily that early. I felt this to be confirmed by the fact that I have booked to catch a bus at 05.45 to get to the London coin fair in a couple of weeks.

There's dedication!

Utterly amazing and, as I've said before, I can't believe the stability of the image! It's as if it's attached to a fixed arm...it's that good!

The Camera is fixed to a gimbal which clips underneath the drone. The DJI drones which have been around longer use gopros which do wobble slightly and have a curvuture in the shots, whereas the camera in the yuneec has a relatively straight Horizont line. I'm bringing it to Scotland with me next year in May and i'm thinking of renting a camper van next Year for a week or base myself in Kenmore. This is a picture i took of the Schloss

I prefer going out in the morning Jerry, a lot more Peace and quiet and no one standing by your side constantly asking questions, although when walking towards the Schloss with drone in hand the police passed me but never said anything, people can be really Quite picky here and i'd rather not have the hassle to explain that its just a hobby rather than me intruding or being voyeuristic, i Had 1 guy moan about me flying ist a the lake even though i'd been there a Full 30 mins before him and was already flying it before he'd gone into the water for a swim, this was at 6.30am.

They have a new drone now with a 4k camera which i'm hoping to buy, they will exchange the CG02 camera which is the one i have plus you add 299 euros. Wish i had waited 2-3 weeks longer and i could have bought the whole new drone for just 100 more than i paid for mine

It's always the way.

4K is amazing though, you'd think that the picture above is crisp enough but I don't think people will be satisfied until you can't tell the difference between a photo and actually looking at the real thing

Would be nice to do some short films around stately homes ,london bridge or a few north wales castles .

Tower of london and buck house might be good as well , as long as its not shot down (I have no knowlage of the legal bits of photographing these places from the air), I surpose there are laws

I think you'd Need to ask permission for places such As Buckingham Palace etc. uninhabited ruins should'nt be such a problem, i tend to stay clear of built Up areas in general incase the drone takes a mind of its own and flies away (it has been known) the rotor blades could cause serious injury should it fall from the sky and hit someone, another reason to have some Sort of insurance.

Yeah it's a bit more difficult in the built up places like London, and they're much hotter on drones there too.

I know that there's that guy who was being prosecuted because he flew one over a London stadium while there was a footy match on, but don't know what came of it in the end..

The risk of injuring someone just is'nt Worth it, they'd sue your ass off here. I want to film the Allianz arena (Bayern Munich stadium) but i'd certainly not do it during a match, it would be another 6am alarm call. The responsibility is in the hands of the owner, i certainly know my limit of what i will and will not do.

So i've now found some editing software, everything is still a work in progress, but now have audio on this latest one which is a short clip from Schloss Nymphenburg again in which i used the "follow me feature" on the drone which basically lets me be hands free and the drone will follow me wherever i go.

In follow mode, how is the height determined? I noticed with the demo clip it was following snowboarders and canoeists, how does it know what height?

Height is determined by the owner. You can go As low or high As you wish, As long As there is no obstacles, it cannot determine those. Next stop, Castle Neuschwanstein on Wednesday

Just been reading about these in the paper today.

A guy from nottingham just been fined £1800.

It says its illegal to fly drones within 150 metres of a congested area or open air event.

Then goes on to say the pilot must keep direct visual contact with the drone.

Suppose its just a case of common sense.

That's why you have legislation. Laws are for the guidance of wise men and the obedience of fools. You don't need many of the latter to screw things up for everyone.

The only laws I know about for drones under the 5kg weight is mainly no flying 1.5km of an airport, army bases or nuclear facilities, the rest is common sense really which few seem to have.
