That's not too bad for a dug up one, most of the ones I find are far worse.

Well I found it in the woods and from my short experience I have seen that from fields coins can be very corroded but in woodlands not so much.

It's made of copper and brass, so has done well for a soil find! I guess the soil in a wood could be a little more peat-like?

Thanks

Found this on my first time out using factory settings on my XP Deus. I had no experience in detecting or knowledge with coins and couldn't believe they made coins so small. As far as I know this coin again isn't worth much but I really love this coin non the less. I hear of people finding ancient coins even gold and silver coins all the time when out detecting so hopefully it will happen to me one day :)

Hi all, just a question about tokens, would these be collected as part of an overall coin collection, and also would you grade these just like coins?

They are farthings issued in the 17C.

Currency coins many with brass wedges.

They can be graded but eye appeal every time for me.

Many are found in and around the Thames (ferry price to cross)

There are a couple of books on them and a few experts about.

Start by looking at Colincooke.com and take it from there.

Also see aboutfarthings.

Yes to both
