1806 Farthing

Recommended Posts

Hi , I was just looking through some of my coins this afternoon as I like to do and came across this George III farthing that I have had since a boy, easily 45 years or so ago, must have been one of my first coins I collected, bought for a few pence. Well today I noticed it has a weird die axis. Its out by 90 Degrees. Is this a rarity and worth any more than a normal farthing. How I've never spotted it before is amazing.

A certain degree of misalignment is neither here or there, but 90º is quite a lot.

It would certainly be rare but as to value, you'd have to find someone interested in such things. My guess is that there aren't too many unfortunately.
