I was never going to expect a bargain considering how the last DNW sale went and how coin sales in General this year have gone

1 or 2 have went cheaper then estimate, but i was surprised at the 2 lot numbers above. The Halfcrown was nice, but not 440 quids worth, thats 530 with commission. What did you get so far Rob? Or IF you wish to divulge

I thought lot 2113 was a very nice piece. Fully round and much better than the normally encountered halfcrowns of this mintmark.

I thought the Tower halfcrown would do well judging by recent offerings. I bought the Briot milled penny (2118)

360. The same as the second one (2262). The first had less wear to the obverse, the second better struck on the reverse but a little off-centre. If the second had been cheap I would have bought that too.

Those commonwealths are doing well

The last year or two these have gone up in leaps and bounds. Not sure why given the monotony of design.

Must admit there wasn't much I was interested in and decided not to bid. The few I would like will go way above what I am prepared to bid. I am interested in what the 05 halfcrown goes for, could someone post the result of it on here in due course ?

There are a few I am interested in. But, finances dictate, I need to be targeted.

Lot 2501 looked superb to me, even though it's not something I would usually collect. It went at over double estimate :(

A bit messy on the reverse at 4 o'clock and flat on the crown. Too expensive.

It just goes to show the value of sticking to what you know, though the portrait seemed particularly good. I'm not bidden on anything today.

There was value both created and destroyed today. There were a few things that were relatively cheap for the specialist today, but the prices of the Mary and P&M groats beggared belief. If I was paying £2K for one I would expect a very nice full EF and better.

Bought Lot 2564 at £20 below the low estimate.
