If anybody wants to understand the concept of 'subject drift' they should read this thread!

If anybody wants to understand the concept of subject drift, they should just listen to a Jon Anderson lyric

Doh!!!

To exemplify:

I'll be the round about

The words will make you out 'n' out

You change the day your way

Call it morning driving thru the sound and

In and out the valley

The muses dance and sing

They make the children really ring

I spend the day your way

Call it morning driving thru the sound and

In and out the valley

Chorus

In and around the lake

Mountains come out of the sky and they

Stand there

One mile over we'll be there and we'll see

You

Ten true summers we'll be there and

Laughing too

Twenty four before my love you'll see I'll be

There with you

I will remember you

Your silhouette will charge the view

Of distance atmosphere

Call it morning driving thru the sound and

Even in the valley

Yeah right, Jon :D

OK, so who's this;

Soon after his second wife passed away

Percy Rawlinson seemed to spend more and more time with his pet alsatian Al,

His friends said 'you'll end up looking like a dog Percy, ha ha,

He was later arrested near a lamp post.

At his trial some months later he surprised everyone by mistaking a policeman for a postman

And tearing his trousers off with his bare teeth,

In his defence he said, 'It's hard to tell the difference when they take their hats off.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

I have no idea! But the name Rawlinson puts me in mind of 'Rawlinsons End' by Viv Stanshall so that's my guess.

Close, the Bonzo Dog Band and, as you say the inimitable Vivian Stanshall. The song (if you can call it that) is 'Rhinocratic Oaths'.

All this music waffle has turned me to visit Amazon and buy 7 CD's and 1 DVD.

I got a couple of Caravan CD's,early Bowie BBC sessions and the DVD of his appearances on BBC.

I also got some early Clash :)

The Peter family will be rocking this weekend. :rolleyes:B)

Out of interest, which two? My favourite two are "In The Land Of Grey and Pink" and "If I Could Do It All Over Again I'd Do It Over You" (they had some really naughty titles!)

Caravan had some very naughty bits. Always good to see them though on the university circuit.

Yup. Nine Feet Underground was always worth the price of admission :)

Land of Grey and Pink and Girls who grow plump in the night.

Cunning stunts was short listed. :)

My older sister was into Caravan and as so often happens I grew to like them.

I checked my daughters downloads and was pleasantly surprised to see my influence's.

Check out Hatfield & The North, who made music quite similar to Caravan, in fact I believe Caravan's organist went to H&tN which is why their sounds are so similar? Hatfield are perhaps more jazzy than Caravan but still a good listen.
