OK i think ive finally learnt how to share a link attached is my link to my latest acquisition 1904 Bunc.

What do our esteemed members think would you grade this as Bunc

WhooooHooooo! :)

be good to see the obverse too?

Difficult to tell the grade from that image, though it is certainly very high! Unless it's your photography, however,I think you could at least take the B off Bunc?

Welcome aboard!

Where the chin meets the neck(indentation) approx - is that what would be classified as a die flaw - and would it be caused by a poor die ?

Difficult to say what you mean as the image is too grainy.

1. Probably cleaned. It's not easy to tell from the photo.

2. It is 5 + B (using Davies terminology).

3. Probably no better than EF, although if cleaned then grade is not particularly relevant.

Bunk, I would say ;)

Seriously though, two things :

1. It's NOT BU. It's got maybe 25% lustre, tops? BU means 90% lustre, some would say even higher.

2. The photo is not good; there are what appear to be 'fleck marks' on the coin but that might just be photo artefacts

Probably AUNC + lustre in my opinion - is there an obverse picture?

Thanks gents,

Obverse is attached on a link above. To look at its got about 70 -75% lustre.

Im using Lindner Digital Microscope for my pics as my scanner is down - and all my pics appear to have these fleck marks.

Not sure if its because the lighting in my Office is not that good or my ability to use the microscope.

If anyone else is using the Lindner Microscope are you finding your pics all appear with flecks.

best regards

I will say it as I see it.

I wouldn't want it due to eye appeal.

It is too blotchy for me.

That's MUCH better! (Though small... see http://www.predecimal.com/forum/topic/7880-posting-pics/ ). Nice coin.

By the way, you do realise you're in the NON British coins thread, don't you?
