I have a coin which I cant find in any of my books or online.

It is a George III 1802 silver coin, 24mm diameter, quite thin.

The monarchs head is George III and I can make out the name Georgius III

The date is on the other side and is quite obvious to see 1802

This date is under a shield which is quartered ; 3 lions, welsh dragon, harp and I cant make out the forth

The shield has a crown on top

Around the edge of this side is MBF ET H REX FDB ET LDSRIATETE

Any help please?

It's a base metal spade guinea token or gaming counter.

What weight is it JohnMc? Did they make spade Guineas in 1802 John? Possibly Half Guinea 5th head? It should be around 4g ish if so, but the date doesn't fit as it has a spade REV. Could you also tell us the die axis Johnmc, IE when the Kings head us pointing upwards and you spin the coin around between 2 fingers to the other side (REV) is the spade pointing in the same direction, or opposite to the Kings head?

A quick look tells you straight away that it's a wrong un!

If confirmation were needed, the spade type was last issued in 1800.

Hence i asked the question, i did notice that, so presumably a gaming token.

Thanks to both argentumandcoins and azda. You have been very helpfull.

The coin does weigh 4g and as for the die axis; well on spinning the coin as directed, the bottom (point) of the shield is aligned with the neck and the flat top aligns with the forehead.

Once again,thanks to you both

Bl00dy Mackems! Filched a draw at Anfield on Saturday. Still, the look on their faces when our first "goal" went in made up for all the beachballs of last season.
