Wow! good Question, erm where to start? (do i have 10?) :o

1) Stephen penny (right up here at the top)

2) Phillip and Mary Groat

3) James II Half guinea (no one else likes it, but i do!)

4) Edward III Quarter Noble (not the nicest specimen, but it's my first [and only] hammered gold coin so i like it for that reason)

5) Henry III Penny (pretty cheap bog standard specimen but i've grown to like it!)

6) 1864 Gothic florin, say no more! *drool*

7) Charles II tin farthing, i'm smitten with that one!

8) George III 1807 penny in fair condition, it's the last of my first ever coins, and it's got some eye appeal.

9) 1879 Morgan dollar, in UNC, gorgeous bright white!

10) Edward I penny, with a slight light rainbow tone on the reverse! (just got it today for £27!)

Absolutely no sixpences!

(and Willaim, I believe the top coin is Gibraltarian)

In no particular order, kind of a variation between medals and coins but here we go:

1) 1833 VF Sovereign

2) George IV Coronation Medal (not a coin but it's divine!)

3) 1797 Cartwheel Penny VF

4) Edward VII what we decided to be a Mule 1911 "Coronation" coin

5) 1910 EF Florin

6) All my pre-Wren Farthings

7) 1795 fairly worn Guinea

8) 1931 GVF Irish Penny

9) Errrm

10) Ditto

That's all I can think of at the minute!

TOP 5

1) Yugoslavia (Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes) 1925 20 dinara gold. Found this one buried in eBay, under a misleading, misspelled title from an Italian stamp dealer. paid less than 25% catalog value for it, and that includes sending my cashiers' check to him certified, and the fees to have him send the coin insured to me.

2) Yugoslavia 1992 mint set. Issued in March, withdrawn when the government collapsed on April 11. Very hard to find, catalog prices very wrong!

3) Yugoslavia 1993 500 dinara. Authorized and minted during the peak of the Yugoslavian hyper-inflation, but never released, since the value of the base metal in the coin began to cost more than the face value of the coin. All but 1000 were supposedly melted. It was during this hyper-inflation that Yugoslavia issued a 500,000,000,000 dinara note!

4) Yugoslavia 1983 500 dinara Olympic Biathalon. This is the first slabbed coin I ever bought, graded MS70 deep cameo. I don't really care that it is slabbed, I wanted the coin for my collection, and the price was right.

5) Yugoslavia 1984 500 dinara Olympic Slalom. see above for same situation (another MS70 deep cameo)

Absolutely no sixpences!

I kinda like those equally, but all the other coins have either a jaw dropping design (gothic stuff), or are teeming with history, much more so that anything dated 17XX is.

And i like the farthing cos it's tin, i like tin much nicer than copper.

Ok, here goes:

1. 1903 BU half penny.

2. 1909 BU half Penny.

3. 1910 BU half penny.

4. 1901 BU half penny.

5. 1932 BU half penny.

6. 1932 BU half penny.

They are my only really special coins at the moment because I am building up a specialist half penny collection. My faviorite's are the gleaming Edward VII ones which are quite hard to get in BU. I will hopefully add some more half pennys to my growing collection at the London Coin fair. :D

2) George IV Coronation Medal (not a coin but it's divine!)

Is that the Pistrucci one, and if so what metal is it?

I'll have a think about my list. Several of them I know will be medals, the rest half crowns and a place for an EF+ 1874 sovereign (alas, not the shieldback).

Yes, that's right. It's now safely locked away at home again.

No, don't try and be clever. I said it was a mule 1911 Edward VII Coronation coin.
