17 & 18 Century coppers as investment

Im surveying opinions or indeed any fact if there is qualified research available to the investment potential of good quality copper coinage from William & Mary era to GeorgeIII Cartwheel Pennies. I have focused primarily on the Kruger pennies & silver coins of the ZAR 1892 to 1898 where the appreciation has been impressively well over the 20% ;) pa thru the past 10 years. I have a fair few British half pennies of the above era and would like to know what the historical appreciation has been and of more interest is the future potential from the point of view of enhancing my collection . Obviously a lot has to do with the mintages and the amount of quality coins passing thru speculator & collectors hands at this time!- I have no clue to this info so would welcome any advice! TIA
