I think you're right. The 1927 proofs fall into 3 categories:

• denominations only occurring as proofs (florin, 3d)
• a different design from the currency denominations (6d, 2/6)
• the shilling

(I've omitted the crown which is something of a special case).

The first group command the highest prices, then the halfcrown (size and popularity), while the sixpence price suffers a bit from the fate of all small coins. In that respect, the fact they all have the same mintage is not really relevant.

These set have been very prone to being split up for gain since they were minted , in fact I am sure around %50  have been broken up over the years

What peckris said is it i personally think, i started in 2013 collecting and wanted all copper+silver dates from 1900-1970   so had to get the  1927 3d and florin proof to complete this goal

I have always been a type collector but have been working on my first date run: sterling silver halfcrowns of George V. Just got this one. Will take my time with the 1913 and 1918 remaining.

Nice. You won't have much trouble with a 1918, but as you probably already know, 1913 is the 'key date' in this series. Expect to pay nearer to £200 for a really top one, though you should be able to find EF for less than £100. In VF they are relatively easy.

An unc 1913 that's also well struck is tricky. But the process of finding one is part of the fun.

Shouldn't be too hard? It was when the mintages shot up from 1914 that overuse of dies became a big problem (for collectors).
