Yes indeed. Though it has strange matt finish...

Thanks very much guys. I have been looking for a fully struck George V first portrait halfcrown with an acceptable reverse. The slightly matt appearance is partly due to the photography I think. Rather pleased that there is no loss of lustre / discoloration on the high points of the portrait.  However, I did hesitate because of the rim nick next to IND of the reverse. But it turns out to be relatively slight and so I am very happy to have brought it.

Upgrade, very pleased with the strike on this one

The reverse strike is really good. All 6 English lions fully struck.

Quite pleased with a couple of Halfpenny upgrades picked up today. First 1904:

... and this 1909. Just leaves 1908 of the Ed VII that really needs a major upgrade.

I'm afraid this is all the 1909 I have...

On the lighter side, I did get it in change in the late 60s...

Loving these Ed VII coins, I’m tempted to pick a couple of beauties up myself again next year! Maybe an Elizabeth I one or two, too, they never left my fibres either!

Great to see you still treading these boards Stu, here's my best Ed VII circulation penny!

Yes, that just about nails the kind of coins I’ll be after...that’s gorgeous!

I’d rather not have an example of a 1905 HC unless it looked ‘well up there! You see I can live with holes better than I can live with ugliness! I reckon that’s what I love about hammered so much, you can find pretty coins in fine on occasions...hard to do that with milled. :)

PS I’ll have it whenever you’re ready, Paul :)

You may well need to change the slab company though 😲

Very expensive coin. I had a good look at the scan and noted a slight weakness in the strike is a few places. ie the helmet and the tracery between the wheel  and  Britannia's lap. Also looks like a knock on the shaft of the trident plus some ghosting. Overall a very nice coin but MS 65?

Nice to see a clear example of EdVII ghosting, though it was a shallower portrait than GV. I don't think it detracts, especially as it is a known phenomenon.

Really nice. Pennies with full lustre is always impressive to look at.

Just out of interest, what is the CGS grade? 85?

OZ's IMO looks a bit better overall with less contact marks in key areas. Both are nice however....

85, yes, spot on!

Supposedly equivalent to MS65

Glad I got it right (for a change). Very nice coin indeed and I do wonder how a copper / bronze coin can maintain full lustre for more than a century.

I don't collect copper (yet) but it appear to me that the CGS scale is particularly incompatible with say PCGS. Everyone know that a fully lustrous copper / bronze coin with no toning is a lot more desirable than one that has partial lustre or has toning.

PCGS has colour designations: Red, Red/Brown and Brown. So Red MS65 is more desirable than R/B MS65. Theoretically, the two grade should have the same amount of bag marks but differ in the amount of lustre / toning and hence in price.

CGS does not have a colour designation. I am therefore assuming (rightly or wrongly) that the colour is incorporated into the grade. Hence CGS 85 can mean a coin with full red lustre or a Red /Brown coin with less lustre but with fewer bag marks.

Two point grading is SOOOOOO much easier.
