Hi all I recently sold this 1862 penny with halfpenny numerals for £1000 did I do well or not?

Surely £1000 is better than £5!

It looks pretty grotty, so if I'd got £1000 for it i'd be over the moon.

I think you did exceptionally well.

I paid roughly £420 for mine about 2 years ago and it's in better condition than that one.

But, if it's a vital, missing piece in someones collection it's obviously worth it to them - it's one of those where you wonder how long it will be before you see another & how much it will cost when you do.
